1951-52 to 2019
Independent India has witnessed seventeen general elections for Lok Sabha from 1951-52 to
2019. Millions of people across India have participated in huge numbers in all the general
elections, making it one of the largest democratic exercises of the world, and elected direct
representatives to the lower house of the parliament. As the Election Commission of India is
preparing for the general elections for eighteenth Lok Sabha in 2024, it’s interesting to know
about the election’s dates of the past general elections. Below is the data of the general elections
held since 1951-52 to the last general elections held in 2019.
