45. Parliamentary Constituencies with lowest

number of contestants in General Elections 2019

Indian democracy is one of the most diverse democracies in the world. Owing to its

heterogenous social structure, there exists great diversity in the nature of contesting candidates
for elections. While some constituencies might have almost more than 100 contestants
contesting on a single seat, there are some seats where the number of contestants is less than

        5. Below is the data of parliamentary constituencies with lowest number of contestants in
        general elections 2019.

In 2019 general elections, Tura constituency of Meghalaya had the lowest number of candidates,
        3. Six other constituencies had 4 contestants, which were Bansgaon (Uttar Pradesh), Bhilwara

(Rajasthan), union territory of Daman & Diu, Ladakh, Nabarangpur (Odisha) and Nagaland.
