Parties in General Elections 2019
As a nation with multi-party democracy, the Election Commission of India facilitates and
regulates registration of political parties as Registered Unrecognised Political Parties (RUPP) as
well along with national parties and state parties. RUPPs gets several entitlements like legal right
to collect donations (which is fully exempted from income tax), and are entitled for privileges of
common symbol, preference over independents on ballot, vehicles, star campaigners etc.
