37. Tendered Vote








































































        According  to  Section  49P  of  the  Conduct  of  Election  Rules,  1961,  if  a  voter  present
        himself/herself at the polling station and finds that another person has already voted as such
        elector, they can approach the presiding officer at the polling booth and flag the issue. Such

        person is allowed to vote only after s/he answers the presiding officer’s questions about their
        identity satisfactorily. The person is allowed to vote only after s/he presents the documents
        proving their identity, by means of a tendered ballot paper, instead of the voting machine. Such
        vote is called ‘tendered vote’.
