The earliest highest margin of victory was recorded of Late Gayatri Devi of Swatantra party, who

had won with a margin of 1, 57,692 votes from Jaipur in Rajasthan in 1962 general elections.
Highest victory margin till date has been recorded in 2019 general elections by Sh. CR Patil of
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who won with a margin of 6,89,668 votes from Navasari

constituency in Gujarat. Earlier, in 2014 general elections, Sh. Narendra Modi of Bharatiya Janata
Party (BJP) had won from Gujarat’s Vadodara constituency with margin of 5,70,128 votes while
in 2004 general elections, Late Anil Basu of Communist Party of India (Marxist) had won by
margin of 5,92,502 votes from Arambagh constituency in West Bengal.
