Annual Summary Revision and Pre-Revision Activities: The Commission ordered an
Annual Summary Revision, starting with the qualifying date of 01.01.2023 in non-poll

going states. Pre-revision activities, commenced in August, include rationalization of polling
stations, removal of discrepancies, and preparation of supplements.

Polling Station Rationalization: Polling stations with more than 1500 electors will be
rationalized before the draft publication of electoral rolls.

EPIC-AADHAR Linking: Provision for linking Aadhar numbers with electoral roll data. A
time-bound drive starting from 01.08.22 for the collection of Aadhar numbers, with

furnishing being voluntary.

Deletion of Repeat/Multiple Entries: Detailed procedure specified for the deletion of
repeat/multiple entries, involving mandatory field verification in reported cases.

Field Verification and Super Checking: Emphasis on field verification by Booth Level
Officers (BLOs) to improve the health of the electoral roll. Strict accountability measures
for different levels of electoral machinery.

Participative Process Involving Booth Level Agents (BLAs): Recognized political parties'

Booth Level Agents (BLAs) can file applications in bulk, subject to certain conditions to
ensure their involvement in the process.

The ECI is committed to creating a more inclusive and participative electoral system. Hence,

these initiatives collectively aim to streamline the voter registration process, encourage youth
participation, and ensure the accuracy and health of the electoral roll.
